BIOGRAPHY
Matan Tal
Born in 1992 in Rishon LeZion, Israel.
Matan Tal is a filmmaker and writer based in Berlin, Germany.
His films showcase a wide range of forms and genres, including narrative fiction, VR, and desktop documentaries.
His work often explores themes of identity and memory, taking viewers on poetic journeys full of humour through complex political and social contexts.
In 2019, Tal was named one of the Top 10 Berlin Filmmakers to Watch by the Raindance Film Festival.
He holds a degree in Film Studies from Tel Aviv University and has been writing and directing short and medium-length films since 2016.
Tal's impressive portfolio includes the films Medea, The Same Snowy Ground, The Limbo, The Death of Romain Rolland, The Invention of Chris Marker, and Mildness.
He has received recognition and numerous awards for his work at festivals across the world.
